Art Inspiration: Paper Hand Fans



No pun intended, but I have always been a fan of hand fans in art. Like antique keys, I also find fans work beautifully as a still life object both abstractly and traditionally. This mixed media abstract is inspired by the textures and folds of paper hand fans:

I also created mixed media journal pages inspired by the words “bloom” and “create.” The design includes an earthier version of the red, green, and gold combination with a hand-painted fan:
