Creative Tuesdays: Forest

The newest Creative Tuesdays theme is "forest." Since I love illustrating animals, I decided to focus on one of the most well-known forest birds. I had previously posted my owl print:
Then, I made a new character sketch based on this print. I always admired some of the techniques of traditional animation. They often started with a basic black and white sketch, filling in all the gray values with graphite and charcoal. In a way, this drawing is meant to be a "looser" version of the print:

I also wanted to make a quick brainstorm drawing of an evergreen forest:

There is something fascinating about landscape drawings that do not show human beings directly, but rather suggest them with man-made objects like a wishing well or a cottage.

Looking forward to seeing all the "forest" inspired art. Happy illustrating!

Print of the Week: Owl

Hi everyone,
This week, I am sharing my owl linocut print:
Birds are some of my favorite animals to turn into prints. I previously posted my phoenix print:

As you can see, there is something about the intricate details of birds that create dynamic prints.

Both prints are available at the gallery. My bird prints have also been turned into fun objects like tote bags, mugs, stickers, magnets, necklaces, electronic accessories, and more!

Owl Print Budget Tote, Stamps, Laptop Sleeve, Pillow, Necklace, and Coffee Mug

You can find them at my Zazzle store:

More bird prints, as well as other animals, are on the way! Please be sure to check back here or on Pinterest for the newest art. Thank you for stopping by!

I also want to thank everyone for your sweet comments on my cat print post from last week. I'm so happy to be a part of such supportive and talented co-op groups! I'm planning on making more color pencil drawings of Ms. Angel. In case anyone couldn't tell, she loves the camera (and the camera loves her). Looking forward to seeing everyone's work!

Hey everyone,
This week, I am sharing my cat linocut print:

I have always loved creating illustrations and prints of cats. I previously shared these three drawings of Angel on the post The Cat Series. The print above was created after the drawings:

And finally, I promised I would share more drawings I created from The Cat Series. Here they are!

I had the most fun making the last one.
More of my cat designs and other animals can be found at my Zazzle store.
